Updates
Still a lot of unfinished work to do – trying to catch up this week

Please only ring on Mondays between 11am and 1.00pm GMT.
If I’m not too busy I might also take calls between 2.30pm and 5.00pm.
PLEASE DON’T TELEPHONE ON OTHER DAYS.

I can only spare one day a week to deal with new repair enquiries.
I have to work the rest of the week to get the repairs done.

Can leave a message ONLY ON MONDAYS PLEASE for new repair enquiries for Technics + some Roland and Yamaha pianos and I’ll do my best to call you back.
Don’t forget to give the make and the model number and a description of what’s wrong
+ your phone numbers and the latest time of night you don’t mind a call back
+ your email address if not in the UK.

Please don’t leave messages asking how your repair is progressing.
The repair queue gets delayed a bit more each time someone asks for an update.
I will contact you when your job is ready.

Work already discussed or completed
To arrange when to deliver a repair or when to collect a completed repair you can leave a message on any day at any time but please give times I can contact you
especially the latest time of night you don’t mind getting a phone call.

New repair enquiries – Basic information required from you …
I need the Make AND the Model AND a good description of the problem.
If you don’t give the Make, Model and problem, your message will be ignored!

NOTE – I only repair these now …
Technics pianos and ensembles, some Roland and Yamaha pianos,
some Technics, Roland and Yamaha keyboards – no other makes.

I do not give advice about how to repair things.

You can ring most, but not all, Mondays during the times shown above.
If the Monday is a Bank Holiday, I’m on holiday too so please ring the following week.
Sometimes I skip a Monday if I’m too busy to take on any new work.
You can leave a voicemail message if I’m already on the phone –
but PLEASE only leave a message if you can’t wait to try again after 5 or 10 minutes.

We need to talk and I may not have time to call you back.

UK:  If you can’t get through, please wait until the following Monday and try again – there is only a certain amount of work I can manage in a week.
If you feel you have to leave a message (ONLY on a Monday) please leave your daytime and evening numbers and the latest time of night you don’t mind getting a telephone call.
Please give your number slowly and clearly AND REPEAT IT.
DON’T leave messages on other days as I won’t have time to deal with them.

For UK repair enquiries I will call you back so don’t leave your email address – I won’t email you because talking takes far less time!

I live in Guildford, Surrey which is half-way between London and Portsmouth.
My telephone number is 01483 236161  Telephone is the ONLY way to contact me

From outside the U.K. dial your country’s exit code then 44 1483 236161
MY NUMBER CAN NOT TAKE TEXT MESSAGES

Overseas Technics circuit board repairs
PLEASE NOTE – I only do overseas repairs for Technics and not for any other makes.
Try telephoning on a Monday during the times shown above but you can also leave your email address on my voicemail – on a Monday please.
Leave me your email address using the PHONETIC or ARMY ALPHABET below
AND REPEAT IT so I can be sure of getting it right!
If the connection is bad, some parts of your message may be impossible to hear clearly.
If you get no reply within a day or two please ring and leave your email address again.

PHONETIC or ARMY ALPHABET – Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Echo, Foxtrot, Golf,
Hotel, India, Juliet, Kilo, Lima, Mike, November, Oscar, Papa, Quebec,
Romeo, Sierra, Tango, Uniform, Victor, Whiskey, X-ray, Yankee, Zulu.

Your telephone number
I will call UK landline and mobile numbers.
Landline is best. Mobile reception is often so bad that a conversation is impossible!
I do not call non-UK numbers.
I can’t do FACETIME or WHATSAPP or SKYPE or send texts …
My mobile does not work here – there’s no signal unless I stand outside in the road!
Unfortunately this means that I can’t send text messages.

My address – I will give you my address if you want to bring or send something for repair.
I don’t put my postal address or email address on my website.  This is to avoid enquiries by letter or email (discussing things by telephone is much quicker) and also to prevent customers from just turning up on my doorstep when they feel like it!
Visits to deliver and collect repairs are only by arrangement with me to save you wasted journeys.
I’m here most of the time but not all of the time.

Payment method update
For goods being collected from me I no longer accept payment by cheque unless you send a cheque in advance and wait until it has cleared.
Otherwise payment must be by cash on collection or by bank transfer prior to collection.
For goods posted to me, I will contact you as usual for payment before returning your goods.
I apologise for any inconvenience caused by this.

DISCLAIMERS
Goods here for repair are at your own risk entirely as they are not insured for any eventuality.
