Telephone 01483 236161 some Mondays ONLY 10am-1pm and 2pm-5pm
Please only telephone on a Monday for all new repair and spares enquiries.
We need to talk – and it is unlikely that I will have time to call you back.
If you get the answerphone please wait 5 or 10 minutes and try again.
If you want to send me a Technics board for repair from outside the UK
please DO leave your email address on my answerphone … very slowly and clearly.
To avoid confusion, please use the “ARMY ALPHABET” shown below.
Repairs must be discussed verbally. There is no point in trying to email me because you will only get a reply asking you to telephone!
Usually Monday is the ONLY day I work with the telephone plugged in.
If the Monday is a Bank Holiday, I’m on holiday too so please ring the following week.
You can ring between 10am – 1pm and 2pm – 5pm approx.
Sometimes I skip a Monday e.g. if on holiday or if too busy to take on any new work,
in which case I would change the answerphone message.
The answerphone comes in immediately if I’m already on the phone.
Please don’t leave a message but try again after 5 or 10 minutes.
BEFORE you ring, read my Home page to see if I do repair what you have.
I need the MAKE, the MODEL and a good description of the problem, whereabouts you live, your daytime and evening contact numbers (preferably normal landline phone numbers) and the latest time of night you don’t mind getting a telephone call.
My telephone number is 01483-236161 and I am based in Guildford, Surrey, U.K.
From outside the U.K. +44 1483 236161
If you have given up trying to get through and decide to leave a message (Mondays only) please give all the info above.
If you don’t get a reply by the next day please ring on the following Monday – there is only a certain amount of work I can manage in a week. Messages left on other days will either be ignored or dealt with the following Monday if time.
Mobiles – I will call back to normal UK landline numbers but as a rule I won’t call mobiles. It’s too expensive and very often the signal is so bad you can’t have a conversation anyway.
If time I might send a text from the computer asking you to call back.
If I send you a text from the computer you might see a mobile number.
DON’T ring or text this. It won’t work. It’s switched off. There is no signal here!
Overseas Technics circuit board repairs. As a rule I don’t call back to overseas numbers, and never to overseas cell-phone numbers, so please try again or leave your email address (slowly and clearly) on my answerphone.
Please use the “ARMY ALPHABET” below so I can be sure of getting it right!
If the connection is bad, some parts of your message may be impossible to hear clearly.
So if you get no reply within a couple of days please ring again.
ARMY ALPHABET - alpha, bravo, charlie, delta, echo, foxtrot, golf, hotel, india, juliet, kilo, lima, mike, november, oscar, papa, quebec, romeo, sierra, tango, uniform, victor, whiskey, x-ray, yankee, zulu.
My address – I will give you my address if you want to send me something for repair.
I don’t put my postal address or email address on my website. This is to avoid repair enquiries by letter or email and to prevent customers from just turning up on my doorstep. Visits to deliver and collect repairs are by arrangement only to save you wasted journeys. I’m here most of the time but not all of the time.
