I live in Guildford, Surrey U.K. which is half-way between London and Portsmouth.
My telephone number is 01483 236161. This is the ONLY way to contact me.
This number can not receive or send text messages.
I only take calls on Mondays between 11am and 1.00pm GMT.
If I’m not too busy on a Monday I will also take calls between 2.30pm and 5.00pm.
Don’t leave messages on other days. I won’t respond until the following Monday.
I have to work the rest of the week to get the repairs done.
If the Monday is a Bank Holiday, I’m on holiday too so please ring the following week.
I do have a mobile but reception here is so bad I leave it switched off.
If you discover my mobile number don’t text or leave a voicemail – I won’t get it.
What do I repair? … only what is listed here – NO OTHER MAKES.
Mainly just Technics pianos and ensembles – I have made test rigs for many circuit boards.
You can send me the relevant circuit board for repair from anywhere in the world.
I can tell you which circuit board to send and how to remove it.
Technics keyboards – the keyboard is the test rig so I need the whole keyboard here.
Maybe some older Roland pianos and keyboards (NOT synths) – see my Roland page.
I no longer repair Yamaha with a few possible exceptions – see my Yamaha page.
I do not give advice about how to repair things.
New repair enquiries – information required from you …
I need the Make AND the Model AND a good description of the problem.
If you don’t give the Make, Model and problem, your message will be ignored – sorry!
U.K. customers – leave a message if I’m already on the phone.
Please give your name, phone number (mobile or landline) and the details above.
I don’t want your email yet – much quicker if I call you back to discuss the problem.
Overseas customers
NOTE – I only do overseas repairs for Technics pianos and ensembles.
Please give your name, your Country, your email address, the Technics model and
a description of the problem.
IMPORTANT – say your email address slowly and clearly two times.
Use the PHONETIC or ARMY ALPHABET below – it does help me get your email right!
If no reply within a day or two please call and leave your email address slowly again.
PHONETIC or ARMY ALPHABET – Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Echo, Foxtrot, Golf,
Hotel, India, Juliet, Kilo, Lima, Mike, November, Oscar, Papa, Quebec,
Romeo, Sierra, Tango, Uniform, Victor, Whiskey, X-ray, Yankee, Zulu.
Contact by telephone or email?
U.K. – by telephone to discuss the problem – by email later to send you instructions.
non U.K. – by email please. I do not telephone Countries outside the U.K.
Please don’t leave messages or email asking how your repair is progressing.
The repair queue gets delayed a bit more each time someone asks for an update.
I will contact you when your job is ready.
Work already discussed or completed
To arrange when to deliver a repair or when to collect a completed repair you can leave a message on any day at any time but please give times I can contact you
especially the latest time of night you don’t mind getting a phone call.
My address – I will give you my address if you want to bring or send something for repair.
I don’t put my postal address or email address on my website. This is to avoid enquiries by letter or email (discussing things by telephone is much quicker) and also to prevent customers from just turning up on my doorstep when they feel like it!
Visits to deliver and collect repairs are only by arrangement to save you wasted journeys.
I’m here most of the time but not all of the time.
Payment method
For goods being collected from me I do not accept payment by cheque unless you send a cheque in advance and wait until it has cleared.
Otherwise payment must be by cash on collection or by bank transfer prior to collection.
For goods posted to me, I will contact you as usual for payment before returning your goods.
DISCLAIMERS
Goods here for repair are at your own risk entirely as they are not insured for any eventuality.
